Our Mission for Global Warming is Real
Global warming, environmental stewardship, the energy economy, and creating a sustainable future are the issues of our times. What we do as a civilization today will affect our progeny for generations to come. Global Warming is Real is published to help raise awareness of the reality before us.
We work hard to aggregate and synthesize the latest news and information together in one place for our readers. As with any blog, any magazine, any newspaper, any television talking head, you should not assume everything we say or present is always 100% accurate. Challenge us. But be prepared to back up your argument, and demand the same from us.
The content offered here is meant to educate, enlighten, perhaps enrage, and maybe even entertain. If it gets you thinking seriously about global warming and sustainability, then we’ve done our job.
By its very name – Global Warming is Real – we give away our “bias”. We have an opinion about the science, politics, and policy of climate change and we express it in our editorial rants category. There are also essays based on our own research on global warming and other environmental issues to help inform readers.
We are not scientists (though some of our best friends are). We read and study extensively on these issues (this makes us loads of fun at parties), but we are merely concerned citizens interested in raising awareness of the issues of climate change, global warming, energy use, and sustainable living; presented for other concerned citizens to help them make sense of the challenges we face in the early 21st century.

Andrew @ 9:18 am:
Hi,
I had trouble emailing you at the link above so I am pasting my mail here. I hoe you find it interesting enough to contact me.
I would like to introduce our new project to you and perhaps you would be able to talk about us.
Tree-Nation will plant 8 million trees in Africa in the shape of a huge heart to fight Global Warming and Poverty. We will create the park in Niger which is one of the poorest countries in the world, and one that suffers the most from climate change and desertification. http://www.tree-nation.com
We have recently become affiliated with the United Nations Environment Program in support of each others projects. http://www.unep.org/billiontreecampaign/CampaignNews/21Dec-treenation.asp
We have built a great new kind of website that combines a community with our own mapping tool. Inspired by Google maps we built our own special version to be able to plant 8 million trees, all with blogs and profiles. http://tree-nation.com/community_map.php
So via our website you can buy trees for yourself or offer and send one to someone you love, and people are doing this for Weddings, Valentines, new born babies, birthdays, to advertise a business, or simply to share some thoughts. You can plant a tree on a virtual map and a real tree will be planted in the same place in the real world. The virtual trees all have Tree-Blogs and Profiles so that you can keep in touch with the recipient and interact with others who have bought trees via our community. You can share ideas, photos, messages, make contacts and debate on environmental issues.
It really is exciting to see members buying trees, writing beautiful messages and then sending them to loved ones via our web site.
With all this in mind the best thing is that we get to do all this and care about our environment at the same time.
I really hope you like our story, and please feel free to contact me anytime.
Many thanks
Andrew Pothecary

Hello,
Been meaning to drop a line for a while, I read your blog from time-to-time, you’re doing a great job. Love your url! Doesn’t get any clearer than that!
Anyways, I am wondering if you want to swap links on our sites? I am trying to create a really comprehensive blog roll — it’s a bit of mess right now, but I am planning on developing a cool new way of organizing messy/large blogrolls.
Let me know.
Regards,
Kevin@desmogblog.com

Hey Tom,
Nice comprehensive blog you have here
I also like the domain name. Would you like to do a link swap with my site? It’s about the Live Earth concerts and becoming very popular.
Keep in touch, best of luck with your site!

This is what people should do- spread the word! Our blog is doing the same thing as yours (we’re no fun at parties either) except for the fact that we write about the future (and a little about the environment, a couple ideas here and their).
Keep up with the site, it looks good!
