The United National Environment Programme has released a compendium of 400 peer-reviewed scientific studies from the last three years that show climate change is quickly outpacing even the projections of the IPCC 2007 assessment reports. The new research indicates a seven degree rise in global temperature may be likely by the end of the 21st century.

Copenhagen aims to be the world's first carbon neurtral cityDenmark’s capital, Copenhagen, announced it will aim to become the world’s first carbon neutral capital by 2025.

The city launched a new climate plan last week which incorporates 50 specific measures to reduce carbon emissions. The first stage of the plan will be to slash 20% off Copenhagen’s net CO2 output by 2015.
