Dear GlobalWarmingIsReal,
I wanted to get in touch with you because of your recent posts on activism and the environment. I work for a company called SnagFilms that allows audiences to watch award-winning documentaries online for free, help support filmmakers and donate to groups that work on issues like implementing solar energy systems in developing countries. We have a film called FIGHTING GOLIATH: TEXAS COAL WARS, a Robert Redford narrated documentary that tells the story of farmers, ranchers and Mayors fighting against the construction of 18 new coal-burning power plants in Texas. I would like to invite you to pick up the SnagFilms widget for this film and share it with your audience by creating a virtual movie theater on your blog.
We have scoured the web for sites we think cover with excellence the topics that are also the focus of some of our films. There is a natural fit with your site, so we would like to invite you to open one of the first SnagFilms theaters. These widgets will help you attract and retain users, but they also benefit the community. By showcasing this growing library of inspirational films, you will support an independent filmmaker and vital causes, while also increasing the time spent on your blog by your readers, and adding another reason for new readers to visit.
Movies like these have the powerful ability to speak to readers in ways that other types of widgets cannot. Many industry analysts increasingly point to multimedia widgets as a powerful way to engage users. By adding our widget to your site, you can:
1. Heighten user interaction and time spent on your site
2. Generate buzz
3. Reach a larger audience
4. Promote a unique service to your community.
The SnagFilms movie player does not require a desktop download, but instead efficiently streams the films. All expenses, including streaming costs, are covered by SnagFilms and there is no additional load on your servers. You need only provide the pixels and we take care of the rest.
We have some pretty audacious goals – we believe we can preserve and strengthen independent filmmaking; we think we can use the democracy of the web to build stronger communities; and we know we can enrich a great number of websites with what is normally the most costly content: professional, compelling films. There are less than 500 theaters in the US that show indie films even occasionally – with your help, we’ll have over 1 million virtual theaters open 24X7. You can lead the way.
I hope you’ll consider adding FIGHTING GOLIATH: TEXAS COAL WARS to your site. To add the widget, click on the “Snag†button under “Snag This Film†at http://snagfilms.com/films/title/fighting_goliath_texas_coal_wars/. Feel free to email me with any questions.
Best regards,
Richard Matson

What a bunch of pathetic losers you idiots are. Your hoax is being called by, among others, Alaska, and you're going down as the charlatans that you and your "science" are.
There, is that polite enough?
Well, guy, it sounds a little wimpy to me. Is that all you've got? Tell you what, my friend, you go back and get real, real mad. Think about it. Al Gore, Al Gore, Al Gore! C'mon ya wimp. I eat people like you for breakfast and I'm not going away! So think real hard, come up with an argument, and come back when you can act like a man.
And I'm not trying to be polite.
Now, with all that said, you're just a little addle-brained and I can't blame you for that, I guess.
So the "state of Alaska" is calling us on our hoax, eh? Do tell. Is it being led by Ted Stevens? (And you don't really have to tell, I already know what you're referring to - unless of, course, you feel compelled.)
I'm just curious, Guy, and you may surprise me here, because obviously I don't know, but have you ever been to Alaska? Have you ever talked to people that have lived there their whole lives? Have you ever talked with any scientists, well, ever, but more specifically one that has studied the ecology of permafrost for the past thirty years? Any of that?
Do you really, really think you know what you're talking about?
Well, sure, I suppose you do. And that is what is truly pathetic.
Thanks for the comment, you help prove an important point.
Have a nice day.
Great site, for your doubting Thomases or doubting Guys…a great film is the Story of Stuff (you tube) It puts responsibility for environmental destruction squarely on our sholders. Information on the Pacific Trash Vortex is also great stuff and can be found on youtube as well.
The thing about the topic of global warming is that opponents can and will use the verifiable fact that, the earth, on its own, goes through radical climate change naturally. So they just shrug their sholders and move on. I have found the best approach for getting nay sayers on board is to simply come at it from a financial benefits point of view. Being green, especially for corporations can reap huge financial benefits. Getting corporations on board, not through carbon offsets (a sham that releases them from responsibility and just makes the carbon offset companies rich)but through actual greening of their business practices can reap huge financial rewards. Why pay for offsets when you can save by greening? Sorry….I'm a blogger lol lol lol I get carried away. But you are right about Alaska and Stevens and I have lived in Alaska…….the warming is all too obvious! Kudos to you great site!
Meredith,
Thanks for the comment. I'm familiar with the film "The Story of Stuff" - you're right, it is very good.
I just posted on the work of the SeaStudios Foundation. They have some films in their portfolio about the condition of the oceans and the trash vortex.
I certainly agree that with the challenges of global warming, climate change, and sustainability come great opportunities. I don't understand why some (who have commented here) seem so dead set to act against their own economic interest. The efforts from some to keep the public in a state of confusion about these matters is unfortunately working for some…
Thanks again for the comment.
I appreciate you adding ecopanas as a friend on Digg…the contact helped lead me to your site and it is an excellent resources. I also just took a look at the work of SeaStudios and is groundbreaking. I look forward to seeing more….
Thanks Julie, I look forward to following what you are doing as well. Please feel free to let me know of any comments or questions of anything you see here.
It's always good to see other bloggers out there trying to get the public to pay attention to climate change issues. Keep on with the effort!

Hello,
I would like to introduce an eco-friendly pet product for you to review. Please share this unique green product with your readers.Thank you very much.
———————————————————————–
FlushDoggy, is a fully biodegradable, flushable(water soluble) dog poop bag that is very eco-friendly. Dog poops are best to be flushed down the toilet and degrade naturally , just as our own poops. Let's stop destroying our earth and start educating the public, one poop at a time. Be a responsible owner and go green for our pets.
I flush my dog's poops down the toilet with a flushable dog poop bag. Most eco-friendly way to get rid of poops.
There are flushable dog poop bags. The best answer probably because dog poop can get treated just as your poop is. Throwing dog poops into the trash overcrowds our landfills and pollutes our water system.
flushdoggy.com offers FREE SAMPLE TO TRY !
We also donate 10% of sale to ASPCA to fight puppy mills.
Thank you so much for reading.
Sincerely,
Michael Yang
I was reading Thomas' reply to the question about environmental costs between driving and flying and wanted to share info on this new site called http://www.cost2drive.com that compares the cost of flying with the cost of driving. It doesn't compare enviornmental costs - but that would be a neat feature.
Hi Gite,
Thanks for the link in response to the post from the Earth Talk column. Just for clarification - the Earth Talk column is made available to us from the editors of E Magazine, and so the response to the question regarding the costs of flying vs. driving aren't mine.
Thanks again for your link.
